What can you expect if your child goes to Panda Garden?
You can expect your child to receiveresponsive, nurturing care. We will respond when your child needs us. When your child is happy, we will share in her/his joy. We enjoy spending time with young children, watching them grow and develop, having fun, smiling, laughing, playing, singing, dancing, climbing, jumping, painting, sorting, talking, touching things…
You can expect your child to grow and learn. While she/he is playing, your child will learn many new things that help her/him to grow. These experiences will help her/him for the rest of her/his life in school, in her/his family, and in the community.
You can expect your child to have many opportunities to play with sand, water, Play-Doh, and finger paint starch. You can expect your child to get messy and dirty. Young children are sensory beings, they learn though their senses. This means they need to have lots of opportunities to touch things and to move in many different ways. This is an important part of their growth and development. Each new sensory experience they have contributes to their brain’s growth and to their appreciation for our natural world.
You can expect your child to play outside. We go outside almost every day. Sometimes, when it rains we may not go out. The fresh air, sunshine, and exercise are good for the children. They run, jump, climb, rough house, play games, paint, and engage in imaginative play. In our garden, they will plant, pick and eat vegetables and grow flowers. They dig for worms and chase butterflies.
You can expect your child to get individual attention. With our 1 to 3 ratio, we are able to focus on each child.
You can expect your child to be respected for who she/he is today. Childhood is not a race. It is a journey. A one year old is not preparing to be a two year old. She/he is being a one year old. If we make sure that children are able to meet their needs, they will be well prepared for the next stage. We want the children’s experiences to be developmentally appropriate.
